Farewell to Pastor Roehrs

Pastor Stephen Roehrs was born in Wausau, WI, the second son of Rev. Luther and the late Tecla Roehrs and grandson of Rev. Paul (co-pastors of Zion, Wausau). He received his ministerial education in the Synodical system: Concordia, Milwaukee; Senior College, Fort Wayne; and graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in May 1971.

Pastor Roehrs has served three congregations prior to coming to Our Redeemer in July 1999; Christ the King in Danville, Virginia for 11 years; Holy Ghost, Niagara Falls, New York for 6 years; Bethlehem in Aiken for 11 years and Our Redeemer for 6 years. He is now awaiting a call (CRM).

Pastor Roehrs and Anita were married in Denver, Colorado in 1970 and have 3 children (all 3 were born in Danville, Virginia); Matthew and Phillip are both MDs, daughter Miriam Krafnick Special Education/Resource teaching in Aiken, South Carolina Public Schools. They have one grandson, Maxwell. 

A farewell and appreciation brunch was held for them on June 5th, attended by the many friends in the congregation. An emotional time for all.
