Vacation Bible School June 7-11,
2004 |
|
Our Vacation Bible School was a
great success this year with attendance running in the 60s. We
extend our heartfelt thanks to our Christian Education Chair,
Diane Hess and Susan Shipman who was in charge of the
preparations, planning, training the staff and overseeing the
activities. This does not take away from the vast amount of
time and effort put forth by all the teachers, helpers,
planners, food service and all others who helped make this a
truly educational experience for our children. We all know
that while we must have good leaders, they cannot do it alone!
Many of the children attending were from the neighborhood, not
members of ORLC. This is good! That is of course one of our
goals, to bring the story of Christ to all. |

Our VBS closing was
held on Friday evening, June 11th. This started with a "Hot
Dog and Barbecue Sandwich" dinner. Of course there were all
the other extras that make such a meal complete. A special
thank you to all those responsible for procuring and preparing
this meal. Approximately 175 to 180 people attended the dinner
and closing program. Our children were anxious to demonstrate
the songs and stories they had learned during the week. |
