SUNDAY SCHOOL MISSION PROJECTS SUMMER MISSION OPPORTUNITIES
- During the months of June and July, all offerings from Sunday School and Sunday morning Bible classes will be designated
to assemble and send care packages to our deployed servicemen and women. On Sunday, June 13, during the congregational meeting,
the Sunday School children made cards for these soldiers to send overseas.
We have also received a request from Chaplain Gary Williams, who is serving in Afghanistan, to send a care package to Kimika
Blakely, a servicewoman from Augusta who has not received anything from home yet. He suggested the following items for her.
Cookies, candy, gum, peanuts, etc. (no chocolate is being allowed during the summer) Other items can be donated also if you
have ideas of your own. We will also collect items for not just Kimika, but for all of the names below:
Tony Barnard, Mary Edwards, Joshua Heyward, Doug Holland, Molly Mae Holland, Ed Kyser, Jay Meyer, Neal Sherrill, Amber Skinner,
Gary Williams.
So whether you give through your Sunday School/Bible class offering, or you bring items to fill these care packages, thank
you in advance for helping us to show our appreciation to and encourage these brave men and women. Items can be placed in
the bin labeled Soldier Care Packages in the walkway. Matthew 25:40 - I tell you this: anything you did for one of my brothers
here, however humble, you did for me.
